In response to all the Sony trollls who call the Nintendo 64 the Pretendo 69, I urge everyone who's sick of this to refer to the Sony Playstation as the Phony Playshitstation.

Console war is silly. I owned PS, Saturn and N64 back in the day and had a blast (I played N64 more, though)

Mine is broken, there's no image and I hear the sound like the game is in slowdown, IT'S-A MEEEE MAAAAARIOOOO HEEELLOOOOOO sounds like a nightmare, anyone know what could possibly be?

Record that fucked up sound and post a vocaroo link.
N64 is probably the most durable system I know. I had mine fall from a 2 meter height once and it works perfectly. Not even a scratch on the carcass.
Might be some weird isolated issue, you'll probably have to open it and see if any capacitor inside looks fucked up.

To be honest, yeah back then not having FMVs (outside of some games like RE2) wasn't cool, because the FMV novelty was fine at the time, ("woah! digital video!"). In retrospect, not having to deal with loading times and possible disc errors is way better. Even back then I thought not having loading times was a good pro for the 64.
>god-awful 3D pipeline architecture
It was what it was. Are you a developer? I don't think so, so you shouldn't care about how easy or hard it is to develop for a system. Not only Nintendo managed to make good games for the 64, Konami, Hudson and Midway made some of my favorites on the console.

Developers did and it shows in the Pretend Shitty Bore's anemic library.

I know you just want to hate it, but if you really think there's only 1st party games that are good, you definitely need to explore the system's catalogue more before you call it anemic.
I know you won't and you will just keep calling it silly names because you're basically an elementary school kid in the body of a young adult.

happy birthday lil nigga (64). was such a big part of my childhood and i’m not sure that’s even a good thing. either way the n64 and gameboy color are associated in my head with a very fond nostalgic feeling that I can never really put my finger on. just this captivating mystique about the games. i’ll never play or look at games with the same amount of wonder and awe as I did with the N64 (and gbc). growing up (obviously) and access to all the information on the internet ended all of that, but it’s fun to try and channel the feeling through memory. /reddit
