It must be nice to have that kind of space. I live in a 480sqft apartment with a bedroom, a galley kitchen, a small sitting room and a surprisingly spacious bathroom. I have a PC in my bedroom and a modern TV in my sitting room, but not nearly enough space for a proper stereo. I just use a $100 soundbar which isn't ideal, but it's better than the TVs speakers.

Not that anon but I've had similar responses from "people" like you then see my living room setup. My TV stand is roughly as tall as those speakers and there's nothing on top of it except a TV and a few sensors. But inside, behind the doors, are a buttload of consoles, amp, disc player, a PC, a couple android boxes, other other shit you wouldn't even understand. It looks like the setup any normal person might have with the exception of the CRT next to the LCD. There are also no vidya/anime figurines/posters anywhere in the room and no female has ever taken one look at it and realized she's just made a yuge mistake.

I'm looking forward to buying a house in February or March based on my current savings and projected savings and lifestyle expenses though. No, that isn't right. HIFI was just a term to show the setup or individual parts of the setup were capable of delivering sound with no negatives. HIFI features no distortion, no noise, no alteration to tonal or response levels, etc.
A final and most important bit is that HIFI needs to be capable of reproducing any frequencies a human can hear and then some. Going as low as 21hz to as high as 21k is usually required. Most things, even shitty pack in earbuds, fit all of this except the last part. Getting lower and higher frequencies than human hearing is hard and is really the only thing that matters about the HIFI classification since it is always the only difference between two near equal setups. It is also why shit like OP is not HIFI.
