How do you count/see coins in retro and I guess non-retro games? I see them like pennies, 50 coins is 50 cents, 999 coins is $9.99.

well theres no aforementioned exchange rate in any game really nor do any of the ingame prices to things ever really reflect real world values, such as earthbound using USD as its currency but a bottled water in game costs $4 or a large pizza costing $238. that being said, I don't really 'count' them in anyway other then the context they're used for. when im playing star ocean 2 and i have over 600,000 Fol (currency in the series) I don't really feel the same way mentally thinking about it since it isn't exactly earned or physically acquired or have as big an effect as it does in real life, so its value is kind of imaginative to that of a child in the question that you are asking.

If these coins are actually as big as a human this kingdom must be rich as fuck to be able to mint that. Even if it is painted iron thats still a lot of value in materials for each coin alone
