SPP2 and Demon's Crest are nice surprises. It's pretty lacking overall though.
Nintendo really needs to stop the drip-feed method of adding 2 new games once a month. There really is no excuse for that, especially for first party titles.

It's not. You download the app and can play the games any time, but you need an online subscription to run the app and to do multiplayer online. Nothing is streamed.

>>5862715
It might take a little work to adapt each game to the app's functions and to online multiplayer, which didn't exist for the original games.

Modern gaming is so shit now. It's finally come full circle. A business born from casinos and gambling finally returning to addictive/predatory practices, selling polished turds as something other than turds, just like every gambling establishment on earth.
Jews and Yakuza are having a field day.

Of course, s3elling shit like Back to the Future or Ghostbusters for $40+(1980s money) is just as predatory. I'm paying less than that because I bought a year subscription for $20 at the start, then Amazon Prime gave me another year for free, then I got another year for $10 when I bought SMM2. So far I've paid $30 for 3 years of service, or about 83 cents per month. Not a bad deal in my book.

Really? I find the interface to be fine, and the limitations on savestates and such actually make me more likely to actually play through an entire game legitimately. On a PC emulator I'm tempted to savescum or just mill around from game to game and never really finish anything. On something like, say, the SNES Classic, where I have to stand up and press a button to change games or savestate I'm just more likely to not do it and I end up enjoying the games a lot more. I feel similarly about the Switch Online emulation, where those little limitations add up to me investing myself into the play experience that much more and it makes the experience more enjoyable overall. Sometimes limiting options is actually helpful for finicky, choice-paralysis-prone human brains.

I find the interface to select and arrange games great. What I'm talking about is the god-awful border and legend that is impossible to disable, the inability to change your controls. Why this thing has less options than the NES classic is beyond me. I get that it's a "bonus" for the online subscription, but it's not an excuse for it to suck.

And that's not to mention the controls; Unless you have a miracle wired switch controller that no one has with a good dpad, any action games feels like shit.

Even your argument about choice paralysis doesn't make any sense since they make it extremely easy to switch from one game to another. Also savescumming just ruins the fun of any game, and I don't know what to tell you if that alone isn't a good reason enough to stop yourself from doing it.

I mean like a bunch of players on Super Mario Kart, I've seen like a hundred players on that with emulation! maybe include a bunch of newer characters in retro form, the new olympic games is going to include a retro mode, that's cool!
What about a third quest for Zelda 1 and a second quest for Zelda 3? a new Metroid with the same spritework as Super Metroid? These roms, playable online is cool and all, but it's just cool and doesn't have a wow factor.

Or I could pay zero dollars a year and get access to even more NES and SNES games on literally any other personal device.
Stop justifying shit practices just because you can get it for cheap.

Sadly I don't know enough other people with Switches to do that. So far, because of various promotions, I've spent $30 on 3 years of Switch Online so I'm sitting pretty at averaging 83 cents per month and I'm pretty okay with that.

Why do people keep saying the VC is better? I don't fucking get it, man. $1.60 per month to get like 50 NES games, 20 SNES games, online functionality in all of them and online functionality in other modern games... or $5 per NES rom from the VC? I'm pretty sure I know which is the better deal here, do you?
