ITT: Games only you played.

I always bring up this game but nobody seems to remember it was called Bomb32 or something, the game itself would call it Tank Wars. Fucking hell this game was awesome for it's time, always played it with my older brothers.

>Wind physics
>Multiple forms of AI
>Tons of different weapons
>Randomly generated maps

I can still play this game today, that's how much I love it.

Please tell me one of you played this game too? ;_;

Scorched Earth is the original name of that game. Tons of clones, notably the Worms series.

Scorched earth came after this one I think. As it really just said TANK WARS on the titlescreen along with the creator of the game and the dates 1989,1990 and 1991. I never played any of the follow-up games as this one was more then enough fun.

At the very least I didn't see it being mentioned here.

>> No.586073

I'm damn sure I have, OP, or something extremely close to it.

The one I remember playing would leave craters in the landscape if you drop missiles onto it.

Fun times.

>> No.586084

I've played it back then, great fun in hotseat mode.
But really, what's there to "love"? it's just a simple artillery games and today something like Worms Armageddon is much better.

I liked the original Worms, but didn't care for the ones after that (too heavily stylized). Still worms isn't the same as scorched earth.

I used to own a game called Streetball. It had nothing to do with real sport, you were just a blue ball that rode on rails and bounced off walls. You'd toss yourself around the level collecting things for points and eventually make it to the exit. I have never seen hide nor hair of it since. Can't even find images when looking it up online.

Also Fire Hawk, Thexder, and Oil's Well, which I can find images of online which means someone else knows about them.

Played it against my brother in the 90ties. It was a shareware-game. One day we lost the copy, damaged HD or something, and forgot the name of it. We did not play this game for a decade at least and idealized it to the ridiculousness. In the meantime came the Internet and search engines. One day I found it and next time my brother was over we played it again… it was meh… would have been better if we did not find it again and if it stayed in our minds as our sacred game.

>> No.587170

I remember playing a game like one of these years ago, except instead of being a tank or whatever I think you were just like a spinning line in the air and you had to stop it at the right time to shoot at stuff.

Can't remember the name for the life of me.

>> No.587328

Okay there was this old 2D top-down online browser game I used to play. It was tank warfare, where you choose one of four teams (blue, red, yellow, or purple I believe) and you're in a huge map (may have been multiple maps).

You could build forts and pull blocks around, lay mines, click to shoot enemy tanks, and you could teleport to anywhere on the map. There were teleporting time restrictions I think. You could gain ranks and I think it made you more powerful.

Anyone know what this was? I think the tanks had eyes/faces on the main title screen.

Holy shit, I played that! I think it was on a disc called "The House of Games." The disc was full of shareware, and I think that one might have had to be unzipped, but my brother and I played it at our grandparents' house once on a really old computer they had in their basement--running Windows 3.1.

It was an absolute blast. Good times.

I remember this bizzare DOS game where you "piloted" some weird ball shaped thing through an alien looking maze, it was one of the most abstract looking games I have ever played, there was like this story about the person waking up in the middle of the night and ooze coming out of his computer and that game loaded into it or something, it had some sort of option screen but you couldn't really figure out what things did because it was all in some alien language, I believe it was shareware or freeware, it was on one of those x games on one cd things, so I doubt I'll ever find out what it was

I played all the Winged Warrior games they had on Download.com. Have a few of them on my computer too, I think.

My entry for this would be Silver Island, also initially found on download.com back in the day. I wish I had a screenshot of it ;_;
