MK is very simple and compared to other 2D fighters is like comparing chess and checkers, but it's still fun.

For me it's Scorpion, it will always be Scorpion. Fake out frontal attacks only to teleport punch behind you and followed by a perfectly timed spear and roundhouse. That is my jam.

It is simple but that's part of what made it great. Anyone could pick it up, choose any character and be using all their moves in a few minutes. For new players it's much more accessible. 3 is where they dropped the ball because the combo system added complexity but the rest of the underlying game was still simple and crappy so it was stuck in a weird limbo.
