I've never gotten past the helicopter stage.

Probably beat that shit once in my lifetime. Fucking infuriating but just kept going back since it was built into my ms2.

I got up to the forest level at least.. cant remember whats past that

Alex Kidd would be pretty fucking easy if the game didn't arbitrarily decide if you win or lose at each boss.

srsly though, everyone born after the 80s should be instabanned from /vr/

And let us not forget the last castle and that underwater spiky room; without the bandage you would have to go through it twice.

You know there's a cheat to the Jan Ken Pon minigame boss fights right?

1st: Choose Rock in the first game, then Scissors in the second
2nd: Scissors, then Paper
3rd: Rock, Scissors
4th: Paper, Paper
5th: Rock, Rock
6th: Rock, Scissors
7th: Paper, Paper

Never have to fight them bosses.

Come on guys you're being a bit unreasonable here to the lad.

Way to exclude 80% of the user base. I guess one guy born in 88 and two guys born in 85 can talk to each other all day.

>> No.584890

>>584883

That's not a cheat, that's a pattern you would have to get through trial and error.

Crotchety people thinking 1989 makes them old enough to judge 1990.

>> No.584895

>>584890
Well, there is also the "pick one then just before the decision hit UP, then wait for the next round and hit up just before the next decision" that doesn't require rote memorization. If you hit down or don't hit up you fuck it up though.

>> No.584898

The last castle always killed me in Alex Kidd, apart from that it's not that hard.

>> No.584903

>>584886
In my experience, people born in 87 and earlier are usually ok. for some reason though, guys born in 89 are incredibly insecure and feel it's absolutely necessary to announce to the world that they weren't born after 1/1/90

>> No.584923

>>584890

Actually you just buy an item that lets you see what particular hand they're going to throw out.

... this was shit hard?
i mean it did take quite a number of tries to get the pattern and timing down of what to do, but i wouldn't consider it shit hard
then again i may be compressing how long it took given it was built in to the ms2

i found ak:high-tech world harder
mostly coz, at the time, it took hours to get out of the damn castle (should have written that shit down). then finally when i did get out, i got hit by a ninja and had to do the castle shit all over again.
it was only years later with the internet ane gamefaqs that looking it up, that first section was the majority of the game.
if you want to see how stupid some of the shit was, look up a walkthough for it. the castle shit was retarded

>> No.585207

I hope everyone in this thread knows that the underwater spike maze is secretly the easiest room in the game.
Just don't push up or down. Just push across, letting alex float against the spikes. He will not be harmed.

All those years spent making sure I had the cane so I could bypass the room. I seriously thought it was impossible ;_;

That altar you had to pray or donate at or whatever like twenty times. No clues given.

Still to this day this game haunts me. Water levels are terrifying to me. If a game comes with a water level i have to level skip or get someone to complete it. strangely the only water levels im ok with are 2D mario levels.
