I work with this 22 year old and he doesn't even know what Ape Escape is... Sony why are you sitting on a franchise only to let it fade into history but you think I need more Medevil

Ehrgeiz' Quest/Dungeon mode will never see a sequel and it bothers me. it was the best dungeon crawler to date and nothing comes even close to it. even those games that aren't retro that are 'dungeon crawlers' like the souls series is nothing compared to its arcade style of dungeon crawling. their way too easy, letting you respawn with equipment when you die and stuff.

Oddly enough Tomb Raider. Sure they're still pumping out games, but that kind of precise, 3d, grid-based cinematic platformer is something that you won't see in a modern engine.

Fishing games used to be pretty popular, I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about them since
I think golf died in popularity too
Every single Beat em Up franchise died attempting to go 3d
DarkStalkers
Banjo Kazooie
Oddworld
Dino Crisis
Pacman used to be the face of videogaming and the original character mascot. Now most people only know him because of Smash Brothers and a cartoon show.
Deer Hunter went from one of the highest selling PC games of the year to almost nothing only a few games later. I don't know what they keep doing wrong with all the sequel to miss out on capturing the original magic.

A Bomberman game done in a similar style to 64 and Second Attack.

There was gonna be one and it was in production then cancelled. It hurts.

Sure theres still Bomberman games but they’re totally different, theyve been rehashing the grid based classic series and doing nothing else

This part kind of makes sense to me. It's a 3d platformer, and I imagine it gets hard to continue to come up with new ideas for those over the years. Obviously Mario did it but Sunshine and Galaxy are some of the most creative games of all time.
