MegaMan4 was kino. 5-6 felt "off" because they were handled by a different team, and it showed, especially regarding the music and pace, which were full of annoying pauses and unnerving tunes.

as a kid i liked them alot because it felt closer to me growing up playing megaman x with charge buster, but as i grew older and aged i realized 1-3 were really the pinnacle in terms of music, stage design, gameplay, and boss battles. powers too in some ways. i will say this, i really really enjoyed the storyline of 4 with dr. kossac and kalinka. i thought it was really cool to reach dr. k's castle and it being all snowy like a russian base. that being said, i think its well agreed that 5 and 6 are just kind of out there.

I know why I hate charge shots. It's the sound. They thought it was a good idea to take one of the best-sounding series in video games and shit all over it with a loud irritating whine. The mechanical concept is good. Anything that incentivizes skillful aiming over spamming into bullet sponges is a good move. Too bad whoever implemented it was deaf or retarded.

Back then it was the Holidays and it was really fucking cold ATM, before global warming fuck it all up, and getting to Dr Cossack's castle really was a threat and the entire Russian motif on the soundtrack, I love it.

4-6 is good.

I play 5 the most out of these three
I play 4 and 6 equally. I think I enjoy 4 the least out of them all but that isn't saying much because I still love 4 a lot. The first Mega Man is the only Mega Man I don't like. 5 is the easiest out of the three though, for sure.

For 6's music I agree with you but Mega Man 5's music is amazing. Protoman Stages. Wily Castle Stages. The Intro and Title. Charge Man. Gravity Man. Gyro Man. Great stage music. Star Man is the only stage music I don't like from 5. Best Weapon Get music of any mega man game is from Mega Man 5.

Megaman 4 is one of my favourites. They improve the good things from 3 and discarded the bad one.
Megaman 5 stage were fun . The game will depend if you like the buster being even more powerful or not.

Megaman 6 , have some stage that I don't like (the plantman) but I like that goofy feels, they know the story in 5 was similar than 4, so they try to discard all the storytelling attend from 3-5(and willy stage 1 in MM2) to make a fun game and nothing more.
Still , maybe is the less good game in the series (after MM8, that one felt like other run and gun games, not a megaman).

4 is probably my favorite. Charge shot is good, without being overpowered, you still have the slide and Rush items, the stages have some challenge to them Toad Man's rain still gets a life off of me on occasion without being boring, the robot masters are OK but could be better (Toad Man, mainly), the boss weapons are all pretty good without any one being significantly stronger or weaker than the others, and the soundtrack is still memorable.

5 is straight trash, literally the worst, don't even argue with this shit. Overpowered charge shots make the stage enemies way too easy, which is exacerbated by mostly shitty level design (I do like the jetski section of Wave Man, though). The soundtrack is decent, and the plot would probably be better if the first castle didn't just have the same fucking boss four times in a row (ok, yes, -technically- they're different variations of the same robot, what the fuck ever). Beat's in the game, I guess if you like Beat and also like having Beat be able to contribute to boss fights this is the game for you. The worst part is the robot masters and their weapons. Imma come right out and say it, Charge Man is fucking straight retarded, and the Charge Kick is the worst weapon in the series. At least fucking TOP SPIN can be used against the final boss, Charge Kick doesn't even have that. Let's not think the Water Wave (which needs to be fired on the ground) or the Power Stone (what with it's garbage trajectory) are any better either. Fuck this game.

6 was definitely better than 5, but it's still not great. Soundtrack still has some bangers, especially Tomahawk Man's stage, so at least they kept that going. The concept of the different boss rooms to unlock Beat is neat, but there's no real difference in the robot masters' AI to actually make it feel different, which sucks. The boss AI in general is terrible, and that brings the rest of the game down. Rush adapters are cool, though.
