Yuko from Valis kicked some serious ass.

The Valis games are pretty damn cool action plaformers. PC Engine CD version of the first game is the best, but the Genesis/Megadrive version is a close second (also the only localized). Syd of Valis (Valis II with chibi characters) and Valis III also came out on the Genesis/Megadrive.

Guys I need some help finding a MegaDrive ROM.

It's a sidescrolling beat 'em up in a medieval setting where you are a girl trying to rescue a wizard/elder from an evil guy.

The first level has you riding a giant troll and squishing enemy soldiers by jumping on them.

I found it on emuparadise and the title was in transliterated Japanese.

Fun fact, Phantasy Star was actually created, written and designed by a woman. Alis is certainly one of the strongest and most feminist friendly early video game heroines. She was the main character in an RPG and had a similar role to any male protagonist, as opposed to many heroines who just starred in arcade games with minimal story, or as something pretty to look at.
