What madness is this game? I played it for the first time today and had so many questions. I'm genuinely curious about its development and the thought process during the designing stages. Is there any info regarding this online?

The New Beetle had just came out and this game served as a sort of advertisement. It should be bad, but instead turned out to be one of the most engaging racing games of 5th gen.
It was developed by the same developers who worked on Pilotwings 64, by the way.

I could've sworn I heard this game was originally a Need for Speed game turned into an advert for the Beetle. Honestly a really great game with a fun set of tracks and cool bonuses, my only issue is that the tracks can feel pretty long at times, although some people may really like that. Solid game.
