>it was Nintendo being dicks to both Philips and Sony that birthed the Playstation?
Nintendo wasn't purely being dicks, to be fair. Part of the problem was that Sony wanted rights and royalties to any IP for any game printed on a CD for the Nintendo PlayStation. If Sony had their way, they'd have ended up owning part of all of Nintendo's biggest franchises, which Nintendo obviously took exception to. Nintendo were dicks for not wanting to pay any licensing fees to Philips and Sony, Sony were dicks for demanding rights and royalties just for having games printed on certain media, and Philips was just kind of a bystander as far as I can tell with a pretty reasonable request for licensing fees on the CD production. But the point is that Nintendo and Sony were both dicks in their own unique ways and the partnership was more or less doomed from the start.

I'm a "visitor" where? 4chan? fucking idiot, are you so delusional that you think I visit 4chan for the "American Experience"? Do you think 4chan is murikan? by what metric, language usage? The English language is not something north americans own, asshole. Too bad! Hey, platform ownership? the guy is Japanese, for crying out loud.

The Sega Mega Drive AND the Genesis are consoles invented by the JAPANESE, no matter how you EOP imbeciles wanna tacitly believe otherwise or nuke that fact out of existence.

I'm pretty sure you're the one who's "special" here. Newsflash, retard: over 10% of your dear country now speaks Spanish as their native tongue. Good luck with your hyper-nationalistic mindset when multiculturalism destroys muh freedumbsland without ever firing a single bullet. Hey congrats, it's already happening, so you'll live to see it.

God we're dirt poor in our shithole country, but at least we ain't no delusional imbeciles with zero perspective about the rest of the planet. Don't worry about little me, just sitting here laughing at you. We have no oil reserves for you to steal, and that's all that matters!. You've entertained me to no end. Thanks for the retardation!

>> No.5813482

I had Sega Channel, it was pretty great. It's how I first played Wily Wars & Pulseman.
It works kinda similar to how Xbox Game Pass does now, but the games were in a rotation each month (So one month would have Sonic 2 and the next Streets of Rage 3). You'd have about 30-40 games to choose from if I remember right, and then about 10 or so timed demos that'd only last for a few minutes (Ballz in particular I remember). The Downloading screen had news and some sarcastic comments by whoever was in charge.

Honestly miss those days and wish Sega would bring back that design for a compilation release of some sort.

It was great. They would redesign the interface for holidays. They would put in some news. Sometimes you get a game that wasn't released widely. A lot of times my cable modem wouldn't get a particular game fast enough and it would error. But mostly it was awesome. I didn't have to go to Blockbuster. I could just play Sega Channel all summer and wait till next month to get a fresh set of games.
