ITT games with steep learning curve.

I just downloaded panzer general for nostalgia and holy fuck I wasn't even able to get past the tutorial vs Poland. I had to look up the strategy wiki and remind myself of some terrain bonuses and open space vs closed space combat.

Compared to today's games similar to this, it is indeed hard. I didn't remember it to be this fucking hard, the poles mauled me.

NEIN, NEIN NEIN!!! THE POLES MUST DIE, MR STALIN!!

Now I tried again it it looks better (considering that now I keep a tight formation like pic related) but the one thing that makes me go mad is the fact that I have only 10 turns to capture all objectives.

open general or panzer general forever?
or maybe I should just play the dos version

I'm playing PGForever. But I give up for today. I'm too tired to get my ass whooped.

You have both general games incorporated in the PGForever (Panzer and Allied)

If Panzer General has a steep learning curve, then TalonSoft's 90s strategy games (Battleground series, The Operational Art of War, East Front/West Front/Rising Sun) have more like learning walls.

So, pretty much any DOS game that wasn't a graphical adventure, FPS, platformer, or arcade game?
