Silent Bomber for the PSX. I still remember seeing it back in 2003, when a friend was playing it. I didn't know the name at the time, but when I finally got into collecting stuff, I asked around and people gave me the name.

Finished it 2 days ago. It's a really good game, shame it never got any sequels. It was made by Inti Creates (same developer from Megaman Zero series).

Realmz.

For the one other anon who sees the screenshot and has a memory trigger, it was a party based RPG which focused mainly on the combat and was probably one of the only games still to this day that had a combat system where characters would get more and more powerful, but later enemies still made for challenging fights.

>what happened with it?

It's rights were bought by one guy and things kind of remained status quo. The original creator, Phillips, became a total recluse and refused to speak to anybody again.

Other way around. I cleared the game years ago when I was a kid without problems. Now, I can't get past the second stage. Dexterity loss is no joke.

i was too young and it gave me big time nightmares...beat it a few years back vanilla and on project brutality

>> No.5803661

A few of the snes games I had when I was young I just beat this last year. Mighty max because it couldn't hold my attention for long enough because even back then I knew it was terrible. Suffered through it and it wasn't even that long. Aaah! Real monsters was just too hard for me back then, but I buckled down and knocked it out. It wasn't as bad as I remembered. I'm not going to play all the way through the tick, just too long and monotonous. I remember doing the level select code to see the end back in the day

not really 20-30 years ago, but I remember playing thps2 for years when I was a kid and never beating it because I thought it was too hard. Picked it up again a couple of months ago and beat it in one afternoon. I actually felt embarrassed by my younger self

FUCK SHADOWGATE ON THE NES.
i poured hours into that game as a lad and the furthest i ever got was the troll guarding the bridge. thats only like 1/3 of the way through it. i sat down a while ago and said i'm GOING to beat this shit. and god, its all guess and check. half of all of the puzzles are just try random shit and see what works. the only reason i god through was i had a guide pls no bully.
WHY ARE YOUR TOURCHES LIMITED? godfuck its bad enough thats its all guess and check, but youre also on a time limit to finish the whole thing before all your torches burn out. i loved the game when i was younger and damn i still do, but fuck that game.

You're completely right, I was thinking about Love & Destroy, which was made by Inti Creates.
I heard that the staff of CC2 made the Silent Bomber characters NPCs in the .hack games, but I don't really remember it that well (played .hack back in 2003).

Still as frustrating and shitty as when I played it as a kid.
And the ending is just a shitty "Congratulations!" screen. Fuck this shit.
