Do you have to beat a game to feel satisfied
or do you just play to a certain part of a game and feel satisfied?

I only feel satisfied if I had fun with the game. How much I played through it doesn't factor in, but if i have a lot of fun I will invariably play it through to the end, possibly more than once. If it's not fun I just drop it and don't look back.

I avoid beating games because it ends the opportunity of fun.

If a game is boring I will drop it immediately. If I like a game, just beating it will almost never be very satisfying and I'll do challenge runs until I either run out of natural challenge runs to do or they become too frustrating and heavy on diminishing returns. In racing games I rarely even bother with campaigns, I just jump into time trials, custom races and multiplayer.

I just have fun with games in whatever way I like. If that means replaying one part over and over, or beating it, or what have you, then that's what I'll do. I don't play games which I don't find fun, cause that's not what video games are about. People who obsess over beating games they don't like that much confuse me.

not really

Usually i have to beat a game to feel truly satisfied with it (unless it's not really beatable in a sense like Civilization or Quake 3)
