>homing attack
>super peel out
>speed boosters everywhere
is this really what this gen's sonic fans want now?

Looks like new level design with Sonic 1 graphics

Gotta go fast.
Faster, faster, faster.

We have a romhack thread.

>Edgy turning the camera

Because zooming in and out didn't make what we saw hard enough already.

Fuck these tryhard no experience filmography wannabes.

>> No.579004

it doesn't look so bad. More moves? sure i'll take it. and so what if it looks like it's done by inexperienced filmography wannabes, they're just emphasizing what they love so much about what they've done. you guys are so quick to dismiss

IMO, for a first version this is pretty competent. I don't think most people know how sonic hacks work.

There are much better hacks out there and it is really speedboosty for a hack, but there are plenty worse.

The only two that I've seen that actually made the homing attack a worthy addition were Megamix and Retro Remix.

>Retro Remix
I've played Megamix and it's GOAT but what is that?

>> No.579071

>>579062
It's more of a collecting game than a straight kind of sonic game, closest I can think of is a 2D Mario 64 starring Sonic in definitely Sonic's world.

The levels are still fun to play normally though. If you're expecting a normal game, you'll still have fun but get frustrated.

I don't think you (or half the sanic hackers out there) understand why the homing attack exists.

>> No.579112

>I don't understand how levels are made
The homing attack in Megamix was exactly for the same reason, just for a different kind of centering.

>> No.579123

>>579112
The homing attack is to make traversing a three-dimensional world easier. Having it in a 2D Sonic hack is either a desperate cry for attention, or just lazy.

>> No.579139

>>579123
You seriously haven't played a single hack yet, have you?

>> No.579146

You think very little of people who don't like what you like, don't you?

>> No.579151

>>579146
No, but I still don't think you get it.

Homing attacks, yes, are completely stupid on a lot of these things, but when maps are made PROPERLY with the purpose in mind it does actually serve a unique purpose that is completely different from 3D games.

I disagree, but I don't see any point in arguing this further.

But then you can make a part where you get to the high route with serial homing.

>> No.579347

>>579279
not him, but you can do that normally with jump chains anyway.

>> No.579376

>>579347
But with serial homing you can do it with bigger gaps between enemies.
