DS4 is absolute perfection compared to the past Dual Shock iterations, especially with the D-pad. The only downside is the lack of pressure-sensitive buttons which only really matters for PS2 & PS3 emulation and it's honestly kinda tough going back to older Dual Shocks.
I think pic-related is the best gamepad ever made but DS4 ain't no slouch.

The Xbone d-pad, while miles better than the 360, has a fatal flaw where after while of steady use will develop what is know as contact bounce. Contact bounce manifests as erratic/inconsistent/double-tap-from-a-single-press inputs from the d-pad due to it's clicky, microswitch-like nature.
