I played Mega Man X and loved it. Whats are some other SNES action games with tight, responsive controls?

Super Mario World has the best controls and movement of any game on the console, so that. Contra 3's not nearly as impressive in that regard but it's responsive and crisp and quick, with an incredible soundtrack.

And a good one that hasn't been mentioned yet is Mystical Ninja. It's not strictly action--there are adventure and mini-game elements too--but for the most part it's action-packed and controls just how you'd want it to.

Is Dracula X worth it or should I just emulate Rondo?

Different anon, but emulate Rondo with the runahead and frame delay if you can't afford an justify a PCE Duo for basically a tiny handful of good-to-great games.

I'm in the minority on this, but I like Mega Man 7 more than X, so you could give that a go. It's not as good as the best NES MM games, especially aesthetically, but taken on its own terms it's a good underrated game.

Yes, it's a different game, only reuses enemies and some bosses from Rondo. Play Rondo first, DX is way harder.

Replayed it a few weeks ago. I miss action games with this kind of light-hearted feel

7 isn't awful, it's just cramped compared to the NES titles preceding it. It didn't help that X1 and X2 had already set the bar for SNES Megaman at that point either.
