The purple controllers are peak comfy/satisfaction. The two matching-colored, concave buttons to indicate the "secondary" buttons; the darker, matching-colored, convex buttons to indicate the "primary" buttons; that aesthetically pleasing combination of purple and gray; the way your thumb feels just right nestled into the concavity of the X or Y button... The American SNES controller is beautiful. Though I will admit the console itself is a monstrosity, the controller is great.
