ITT: Post a picture of your most expensive game that you currently own.

Bought my copy here for ~$70. Not too proud of that, but whatever, it's a great RPG to me.

Well, I bought KOF '95 on the Saturn for $100 the day of release. I've spent more on modern games that have special editions, but haven't really spent a lot of money on a "retro game" I didn't pick up near the original release date.

Kind of funny...I did nab Panzer Dragoon Saga for $20 at TrU when they were clearing out all Saturn stock.

Its not inexplicably. The cutscenes are 16bit rendered, not handdrawn, so they have and older look and less of that deformed "90s" look. The music is powered by the BLAST PROCESSOR of the Sega CD, instead of the PS1's rather lame sound card. And the Genesis' limited palette gives it a grittier look.

The PS1 version is more valuable though, because of the Complete edition.

I still say it's inexplicable. It wasn't just music quality, the 32 bit version actually had less music tracks.

Also, in the Sega CD when you went through a door it opened with a little animation. In the remake doors just pop open in one frame.

And look at this comparison of the Illusion Woods between Sega CD and PSX. The Sega CD had lower quality graphics, but it actually looks like a forest of trees where you go through holes in the trunks to get around. The PSX version just looked like a bunch of bushes which you push out of the way.

Because I'm only lazy at key intervals. And I actually sell games on ebay in order to afford to buy new games.

Though two of the three copies of Suikoden II I own I actually bought at gamestop way back in the day when they sold PS1 games. And they were stupid enough to sell at normal used game prices.

Gold ALTTP I built myself. My ex-gf got me the million seller for $20 incomplete but the cart was still in the bag. Zeruda No Densetsu came complete, whats often missing is the little card that has what the items are on it. I have that in my specimen. I also have a spare incomplete one that I may sell later.

MM/OOT CE's are CIB, I got them from the original owner. MM is holo label.

He asked me "What should I ask for my N64 lot". I replied "Whatcha got?" He named off a bunch of common ones "And both zeldas with the box and manuals". "I'll give you $30 for just the games, and sell off the rest for $30".

It's only ripping him off if I sell them, which I fully plan to cut him in on at least $50 per box. That still leaves a tidy profit for me.

Last time I saw him he thanked me again for picking up the games off him, and told me he had a Star Fox manual he wanted to toss me.

"No no, thank you ____" I replied. I got him a pitcher of decent beer.

Mega Man X2 was apart of a SNES lot I bought. Believe it or not, I passed on the REAL gems.

Friends mom asked what I wanted, I took my pick of the litter (MMX2, a Super Pad turbo controller, "Video Mate" SNES/Genesis drawer, boxed SGB).

Saw a sealed first run Super Metroid. "I don't know how much this is worth, I'm not interested in ti for my collection but I'll price that out for you". Our jaws hit the floor when it's $300. I get her a plastic protector for it. It's pristine and sealed, she squarlled it away for her kids and forgot about it. Still had Sears warehouse stickers on the plastic wrap.

Later on we went through her stuff and found a sealed fat Gameboy. Both seals intact. Shes got an Atari 2600 lot with a bunch of unremarkable games in it.

Akira was a $30 pickup for myself. I imported it and it comes near mint, with everything near mint, and a warranty card, making it actually complete.

RE I recently found while moving and is complete as well. I have a players guide for it.

You ever wonder why it's hard to find cheap ALTTP manuals on ebay? It's my fault. I bought them all when they were $2- $5 a pop. I even got one seller to dig through her shit and find me another for $2 shipped.

IF it's a new seller who doesn't look like they know what they're doing ,just ask "Do you have any more X items?" 9/10 times it's no, but every now and then it's gotten me more stuff, and denied other asshole collectors the oppertunity to cheaply build a box.

Turok: Rage Wars gray cartridge. Didn't even know it was rare until I came home and checked on ebay after paying $9.99 for it.

The game sucks. Thinking of selling it to buy Mighty Final Fight or Final Fight 3.

there was a separate version of PS1 Lunar that was just the case and a normal manual.
still got the manual, but i got the complete and lunar 2 complete from a friend.

>> No.587716

My friend picked up Harvest Moon 64 at a pawn shop a few months ago in perfect condition for $5. He needed money real bad and offered to sell it to me for $20. I told him to throw it on Craigslist for $40 and nobody bought it within a day that I'd take it off his hands. Of course, it sold on the spot. I almost regret not buying, but he needed the money, so there's always next time.

That's hilarious, i always wanted to be a millionaire so I could buy all the earthbound carts on Ebay and ruin it even more for you guys and post one every now and then for over 500 dollars cart only. But for all that trouble you are making like 8$ per manual? Doesn't really seem worth it but it still it really cool just to know that you cornered the market like that.
