It's a very solid sci-fi story heavily inspired by Childhood's End with, to be fair, wonky CG animation of mechs, but enjoyable nonetheless. Also, cat transforms into a robot for main hero.

Eva's pretty good, though I feel like it may have turned out better if they didn't run out of budget and Anno didn't lose his shit. Still a damn fine show, and with all the spinoff material it's not like I can't just find an ending I prefer.
