I want to buy every All-Stars cartridge and Wii disc in existence, patch them with the brick fix, then redistribute them. I want to erase this blemish from history.

>> No.5738319

Good luck patching a disc.
What's the brick fix?

>> No.5738323

>>5738319
In SMB, when you hit a brick while large, you immediately go back down
In All-Stars, you keep going through the brick, which kills momentum
Sounds small, but kills the flow of certain levels like 4-1
There's a patch though, the brick fix, which makes All-Stars the definitive way to play SMB and LL

>which makes All-Stars the definitive way to play SMB and LL
But it was already the definitive way of playing them.

Why play the remake anyway?

I still think it's funny that the Wii iso is like 4mb because it's literally just the rom file in a wrapper

In bongland the limited edition has a warning to the effect of "the contents of the disc are unchanged from the Wii Shop edition".

I hope Nintendo remakes SMB1 with hideous 3D models, an awful remixed soundtrack, and a bunch more physics bugs so that /v/ can pop in and tell us that it's the definitive version now. Wait, that's already going to happen with Link's Awakening.

Does it really make that much of a difference if you’re not trying to speed run or some shit? I never even knew a change was made until autists started rambling about it.

DX is the same as the original except with some screen crunch. If you can accept that, it's a great version.

>> No.5739824

>>5739731
For me it just can't be unseen. You may not notice when randomly breaking blocks or whatever but a lot of specific jumps/situations just don't work right and have to be played differently.

>>5739704
DX adds a ton of cool shit and would be the real undisputed best version if not for the screen crunch
