He's got a point about PNG vs. static GIF. GIF is only comparable in these circumstances on account of the limited color palette, and is still less efficient than PNG in even these cases.

However, this is also not worth fighting over, since the file sizes are small regardless and quality is the same.

for how long has it been a thing to include lewd screens in games in Japan? You only needed to select her first in the summer camp sequence. The point where you were selecting three members for your group.

All the other characters were content with just being in the group. She was the only one that required the #1 spot.

Otherwise she'll reject you at the school dance sequence and that's it then.

(Yeah, I needed a walkthrough too to figure out that one...)

It used to be you can have some casual nudity in games like Princess Maker and such and it wasn't a big deal, you know? But then by the 21st century it had become a no-no and when Dragon Master Silk got a Windows port in 2002 with no change to the content they had to give it an "adults only" label and it only got sold in the porn sections of stores.

There used to be sites out there that did nothing but store old /e/ and /h/ game rips but it seems to be lost now. Even Sadpanda doesn't have as much really old stuff. Theirs seems to taper off hard in the Win98 era

Most Chinese fonts include kana for some reason. I guess when you have to draw up 6000 characters anyway, another 100 or so won't hurt.

I'm pretty sure your emulator just autogenerated your font from some Chinese font you had installed.

The comma is in the lower left corner in a proper Japanese font as in pic related.

Found this post in the archives and the mega is still working. 5gb of PC98 games and windows/dos versions with some applications.
The files must have had quite the journey. Most are zipped in 2004-2005 and played a game with a savefile from 2001. I wonder what that guy is up to these days.
For preservation purposes, collections like this are important.

128 page book called "Retro Game Bishoujo Graffiti" came out 2 months ago
Mite b cool but reviews say it jumps around kind of randomly between Famicom, Arcade, PC Engine, Super Famicom, and Mega Drive covering a total of 51 characters so it's one of those general nostalgia books rather than a concise database.
I'd be more interested in a series of these each focused on individual platforms.
