Here we see the broke man in his natural habit. With too much time on his hands and no direction in life he becomes consumed with conspiracies and philosphies he inherited from the internet. Spontaneously, he begins ranting about transvestites, something called dilatation, and starts posting pictures he, for some reason, has saved of transvestites. Many would like to advise him to seek help, but at his age, it may already be too late.

Bro, real talk, I see what he is saying, if you have a decent amount of savings you have to look into other options than just your bank's stock 'savings' programs which usually end up not even beating inflation. Plot twist: many of the people who own older systems and games may have actually been alive back in /vr/ times and
A) bought the systems and games at release and have kept them over time

>every game of every system
I don't think most collectors have that goal. At most they want every game of a particular system, but most people aim to get the best games of each systems, not full catalogue.
Also, you can still "display" your old stuff if you want.
Anyway, collectors can be anal, especially people who jumped the bandwagon late and expect good prices and complain about it, but people like OP who are visibly jealous are cringe.

Even large collections cost less than a new car and doesn't depreciate. If this kind of investment in a hobby that someone else enjoys makes you do self conscious and distresses you so much then yes you're probably a poorfag.

It isn't the not collecting, it's the constant desperate efforts to validate and totally legitimize emulation that makes you a target for ridicule. People who can afford to do something but choose not to don't behave this way it's that simple.

The real redpill is when you realize that buyfags and emufags only hate each other because they each have something the other doesn't. Buyfags spend hundreds of dollars on upscalers because they fell for the crisp clear pixel meme and want their original hardware to look like emulators on their HDTVs. Emufags spend hours fiddling with shaders because they want their emulators to look like original hardware on LCD monitors.

LCDs might have driven us apart, but CRTs can bring us back together.

Original PDS is overpriced now. Saturns, maybe. CRTs can gotten for free, but you can plug them into a PC anyway, and you can get free PCs that are good enough to emulate games of the PSX/Saturn/N64 era.
