do you know any good adapters on the market for snes conversion to japanese to recommend. i look up some videos recently and dont want to break the parts in the console at the moment

>> No.5710251

A decent alternative is getting a gamebit screwer and swapping the case with a US SNES one.

Do you mean playing an SFC game in an SNES? Just remove the tabs in the cartridge slot.

>> No.5710259

>>5710252
thats what i mean, i thought about it im not sure i want to remove those parts, because i dont want to be messing around with the snes i think. in the case its very expensive ill probably do that if theres no other option.
>>5710251
ok that sounds like way too much.

>> No.5710274

I believe you can use a game genie or GameShark to play sfc games on an snes. I would personally cut out the tabs in the console but I won't fault you for not trying.

>> No.5710296

Just grab the tabs with a pair of pliers and they twist right off. There's no reason to not do it, it takes literally ten seconds.

>> No.5710304

>>5710259
Anon, you literally just cut off two little pieces of plastic, this isn't some complicated process.

its not that i cant do but id rather leave the console alone and not change anything. thanks anyway

You'll never notice it. It's beneath the flaps over the cartridge slot and it's literally just molded plastic, it's not messing with the circuitry or anything like that.

Here's a replacement for that part. Cut the tabs off and swap it with your normal one.

In what way is this an improvement over just cutting off the tabs.

>> No.5710384

If you don't want to cut up your Super Nintendo, you can cut the tabs out of a Game Genie in the same way and use it to play Super Famicom games.

Because you can swap the original back in if it bothers you that much.

My favorite streamer just bricked his SNES trying to do just that.

Turns out capacitors hold charges much longer than anticipated.

you don't even have to swap shells, you can just put the board into the cart slot (make sure it's facing the right way tho)

I found pic related at a garage sale years ago. I've never had any problems with it. Not sure how available/expensive it is online, but it plays sfc on my snes without the need to cut off the tabs.

The reason no one makes converters is because there's no need and no one who isn't an autistic weirdo would rather psy money forvab adapter when they can remove two plastic tabs for free in under 2 minutes. Please understand that.

>> No.5713473

You can buy them, but they're $40 to $50.. It really shouldn't cost that much. It's a $2 connector, a pcb, and a plastic shell. You could easily diy it with a 3d printer. Worst part would be the pcb, which would be sort of expensive for a one off, I guess.
