One of the greatest mods i have ever played.
It has a long camping with loads of branching paths, you can miss 50% of it on your first playtrough.
It's fully voice acted, and the voice acting isn't bad, most of the time.
The levels are as good if not better than vanilla DX at times.
Music is amazing.
It has loads of new features.
Overall, it's as good as vanilla DX, yet it's also better in places.
It's so good that they are still selling physical copies of it.
Also one of the mappers is working on version 2.0 now.
It's just amazing. The only problem with it is that it's story is about a flame war on an old Planet Deus Ex forum, so a lot of the jokes and references will just fly straight over your head.

I think a lot of the humor could be relatable to anyone that had experienced internet forums and culture back circa 1999 through 2003-ish, though I spent a fair bit of time on Planet Deus Ex myself so I'm probably biased. It's a goofy mod but a lot of the LucasArts-esque humor should be at least comprehensible. Really a masterpiece of a mod.

of course it takes a Jensen poster to not realize that Helios was fucking insane. In invisible war, you literally have to go inside JC's mind after the merger and fix all that shit, and even after that, Helios still does that "yeeeees" thing.

Not that guy, but it's basically added detail to areas, a few new routes and secrets, and some gameplay tweaks like computers not pausing time, minor perks you can buy, and a few weapon rebalances. It's still Deus Ex but with a few modern conveniences. Also I don't know if it's just been so long I've gotten bad at it but GMDX seems way harder than the original.

>>5701706
It's implied and even stated a bunch of times that the NSF was desperate and would recruit basically anyone, including outright drug dealers, pimps, and other two-bit criminal scum. You're basically dealing with the NSF's Dirlewanger gang.
>>5701812
The anti-government type wasn't viewed that favorably in the 90s. In retrospect they obviously look like the good guys, but pre-9/11 there was a lot of media about right-wing extremist terrorists, particularly in response to Ruby Ridge/Waco/McVeigh and all that. The game Damage Incorporated for example is entirely about fighting right-wing militia types and Klansmen.

Same reason the rebellion in Star Wars commited countless atrocities and war crimes and recruit from absolute dregs of society including tons of criminal, scum, and other people who would gladly work for rebellion paychecks and security instead of imperials breathing down their neck.
Rebellions have to take what they can get, and since the NSF is a ragtag NRA freedom fighter group held hostage by the motherfucking plague and the US govt hunting them down, they don’t have much a choice but to take some of the rather unscrupulous folks because they need to.

But aren’t the NSF like, analogous to right wingers that were mocked in the late 90s? The same folks who now WOULD vote conservative? Only in decades to come have people sympathized more and more as we lean towards dystopia and realize the censorship and gun grabbing is more real than one may think.
