You're supposed to come to your own conclusions about those things.
That's why the story pisses so many people off. Most people want a story resolved for them, rather than coming up with resolutions themselves. We call these people "morons".
Then there's the "holier than thou" faggots who take shit way too abstract while also taking shit way too serious. We call these people morons too.

It's just a story about fate, and rather than forcing(fating) the player to confront a defined ending, the designers left it open and free from fate. That's what makes it neat. At least to me.

The element system sucked ass, It was just a cluttered mess most of the time. Graphics and music were good though and the techs were fun to watch. This game is for sure the very definition of good game but not good sequel though.
