What SNES games can I play with only a D-pad and 4 buttons? I already went trough Mario, Zelda and the DCK games once again. Now help my memory: Can I beat starfox without rolling right or left? Super Metroid def. doesn't work without shooting up and down diagonally.

Why can't you use shoulder buttons?

Are you one of those freaks with missing fingers or something?

Are you doing something silly like trying to make one of those stupid old Gravis joypads useful?

If you know good genesis titles, please tell me too. Earthworm Jim and Comix Zone on Sega were great, but I like Nintendo games more.

I just have a special condition that makes it hard to move certain muscles in certain directions. As a kid I was pretty much a cripple, but over the year I had a lot of therapy sessions and I can do most stuff and even some sports like swimming.
I can walk normally for example, but not backwards or sidewards and I can crouch to pick something up from the floor, but only if most of the weight goes on my right bodyside.

Tough break, but I understand ya. Had a close friend growing up in a similar situation.
You know one solution for accessing 6 buttons on the cheap would be one of the RetroBit Genesis or Saturn USB controllers. They're ~$25 and would give you 6 face buttons so you could map SNES's L+R to the Z and C buttons. Just throwing that out there.

As far as good games? I'd say there is actually more SNES games that don't need the L/R buttons then do. SMB:World, Final Fantasy 4+5+6, Castlevania IV, Actraiser, etc.
What do you like gameplay wise anon?

The buttons on the sega gamepads are really far apart, so I have to put it on the ground to play. It's not that bad and I do the same thing when I get to a really hard level, or when I need to use the START button really quick in some games (e.g. NES punch out). But that's why I prefer the SNES controller (I use those cheap 5€ usb ones)

I love games like Kirby or Donkey Kong. I finished all Final Fantasy games from NES to PS1 VII. I can't beat Castlevania games on NES however, idk if SNES games are easier.

It's not really an area I'm familiar with (custom controllers for people with disabilities), but it wouldn't be hard to make a usb controller with a $2 microcontroller (atmega32u4 based) and 3d printing. Modifying existing controllers could be an option as well. If you know someone that can do it of course, or someone who will do it for money.
A couple of microswitches in a 3d printed enclosure wouldn't cost very much to make, and would work a lot better for retro games than racing pedals.
I would be surprised if there aren't people out there making things like this. Check out thingiverse and maybe (unironically) reddit.
Can't really help you with the games, sorry.

You could play the games on emulator with superior keyboard instead. Pads are for fags.
