This really isn't true. My ex girlfriend had a Gamecube and a SNES. She wasn't super into gaming but she loved the few games she had like Super Mario World, All Stars, Mario Kart Double Dash, and a few others. She actually recommended Chip's Challenge to me as well.

For OP you probably want something easy and co-op like Chip N Dale, Bubble Bobble, Gyromite, Joust, Baloon Fight, TMNT 2 & 3, Snake Rattle and Roll, Tengen's Tetris, Yoshi, and Yoshi's Cookie. Have fun but make sure you spend more time banging than playing NES.
