Redpill me on the Sega Saturn. What's its best games and are there any good Japanese exclusive games for it? I'm going to Yokohama in a couple months for 2 weeks and honestly just wanna spend an hour going through a Hard-Off to find some better deals on a Saturn/Saturn games. What are some underrated games on it too?

>> No.5659437 [DELETED]

Literally the ultimate weeb machine as the majority of games you'll encounter will be either a Japanese exclusive or the Japanese version of something expensive in the US.

I like the Super Scaler games a lot ive personally got
Outrun only works on some models of the saturn, people say it only works on model 1s but it works on my NA model 2 and doesnt work on my japanese model 2
Power Drift
Afterburner 2
Space Harrier
and Galaxy Force 2

Konami has lots of shooters on the system
Twinbee deluxe pack
Gradius Deluxe pack
Salamander Deluxe Pack
and a couple parodius games,
might be helpful to track down salamander cause its the priciest one usually

Capcom fighters that are cheap or affordable for the most part make sure you get the 4mb ram cart
Street Fighter Zero
Street Fighter Zero 2
Vampire Hunter
Vampire Saviour
Xmen vs Street Fighter

SNK fighters cheap as well
KOF96
KOF97
Real Bout Fatal Fury
Real Bout FF Special
Samurai Spirits 3
Samurai Spirits 4

For expensive shit that I know I personally will probably never own but you might be able to find in Japan for a better price.
Battle Garegga
X Multiply/Image Fight
Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru
Batsugun (this one hurts im a huge toaplan fan but not spending 200+ on one game)

Also you gotta get you 2 virtua guns and
House of the Dead
Virtua Cop
Virtua Cop 2
Henry Explorers
and Area 51
all of those games are fun as hell.

and if you see it Mobile Suit Gundam the game is cheap as hell probably 400 yen but its actually really fun side scroller mech shooter that has some strategy elements to it.

It's not a projection because you literally said they gouged prices at hard offs. So yes, you dont know what you're talking about. Price gouging is literally the antithesis of those stores, even in tourist ridden areas like Tokyo. I was literally only asking for fun games to play. I dont care about expensive rarities, just cheaper prices than importing from the states. I'm going near Sawara for a day trip away from most international tourists anyway. There is an active curren running through the cart when in use (obviously quite small) so pulling it out and putting another one in isn't a great idea. Unfortunately you can't access the internal save using an action replay, though you can buy a dev cart that can retain that function with Pseudo Saturn installed.

Your best bet would be to buy a mod chip and just flash the cart back to its original firmware, or buy a memory card.
