I finally took my ps2 out of the closet and have a 250GB hdd to fill with games (roughly 80 games).
help me build a list of the best games for the console. I'm gonna skip games that have better PC versions since space is tight. same for arcade ports which I can just emulate the original version.

oh and if Diablo 2 belongs on /vr/ (400+ thread says it does) then the ps2 belongs on /vr/ as it came out months before that game.

anyway recommend me some games! so far I got

Baldurs Gate DA
Baldurs Gate DA 2
Demon Stone
Champions of Norrath
Champions Return to Arms
Draken (Something or Other)
Kings Field (Something or Other)
X-men Legends
Spider-Man 2
Ultimate Spiderman
Hulk Ultimate Destruction
Rampage World Tour
Katamari Damacy
We Love Katamari
Godhand
Way of the Samurai
Way of the Saurai 2
Samurai Western
Ratchet and Clank 1, 2, & 3
Gungrave
Gungrave Overdose
Twisted Metal Black
Burnout 3
Burnout Revenge
State of Emergency
Yakuza
Yakuza 2
Okami
Ico
Shadow of the Collosus
Sky Gunner
All SOCOMs, Metal Gears, Dark Clouds, Final Fantasys and Silent Hills(should I skip any?)
I'm skipping GTA's (because PC) and Tony Hawks (because I can't go back to that shit from SKATE) and fighting games (arcade emulation)
I don't know which Armored Cores or Ace Combats to add but I don't got room for em all.

I'm sorry, the check character didn't work.

Retro for PC means that its minimum requirements were met with an average consumer system before the 2000s.
PS2 is a system launched after 1999, it is not retro for the rules of this board.

gotta take that Diablo 2 thread down too. sorry rules are rules and it came out post 1999 too. there is no rule regarding system specs

I should fill all 250GB with fifa and madden

No. It has its own specialized architecture and the GPU is way more powerful than anything before it, outdoing even the other 6th gen consoles in sheer polygon pushing power. It may adhere to retro sensibilities, but it's definitely not retro.

There are PS1 and N64 games that came after the 1999. The rules state that the system is the discriminant.

really? how come Xbox and Gamecube multiplats look better a lot of the time?

There literally is. "Platforms released before 1999". If your computer parts made before 1999 can run the game, it's retro here.

Skip FFX-2 for sure, you might hate XII depending on your taste so I suppose give it a try

>> No.5651890

Because they were more advanced in other ways, and because their architecture seldom ports well to the PS2. PS2 games didn't port all that well to those consoles either.

cool gonna a make a bunch of WoW threads then since at launch it met those requirements

>> No.5651906

Why a bunch? Just one is enough, there is also a MMO thread if I'm not wrong, you could post there.

Dude the USB speed reading is like very shitty. FMV runs like shit and some levels have a lot of problems.

The fat can use the IDE port on the network adapter. I loaded mine up with a bunch of shit but honestly all I ever play is Burnout 3.

>> No.5651985

>>5651920
Nobody uses USB anon. Literally nobody. IDE/SATA through network adapter is the accepted way and a big improvement over disc speed in most cases.
