I'd love to play but at least half of the "great" players on DarkFiber's FFA server are injecting shit. Only when the people with perfect aim show up does it start experiencing latency issues. When they aren't around I still enjoy the game from time to time

you know i never really consider the idea that there are cheaters on quake live. ive seen literally ONE and he was playing around with plasma gun. i used to feel like people played quake for fun but when i play quake live now im not really having very much fun. i mean hell you couldn't really cheat in quake 3 because of how much items mattered, a cheater would just get their asses slammed even with 100 percent mg accuracy but players spawn with all weapons now and clan arena is the most popular gametype. movement is still important though and a lot of movement is reliant on your mouse input so maybe thats just being overly suspicious. i dont know how viable it would be to cheat at all even if you never unequip the railgun

It's subtle there. Quake Live experiences performance issue when someone is injecting something. That and going 50-5 on a map like Asylum with 16/32+ and insta-respawning weapons players is sketchy as all hell. Like I said, any other server and there's no issue. Hell, on DarkFiber's other servers there's no issues. Only on that particular server when a particular group of people are on. Speccing also gives a good indicator as well when someone is perfectly tracking another player through the wall they just turned.

Still, I agree it is utter AIDs when there are 3 annoying shitties spamming the GL and RG on Campgrounds with fuck all to stop them when there's 15 other people. That server made me a staunch believer that Longest Yard is not only the worst map in Quake 3/Live but 1 of the worst maps and vidya period.

It's a matter of finding the right times to play on.

It's too bad that Quake Live is the only "working" one with server browser. I would even play Quake Champions if it had server browser and "features" like fast menus, and continuing game with map rotation. It's a fucking joke what developers deliver today.

I play on the Q2 tastyspleen server sometimes, half the people are fucking around with gumby skins and will play the goofy mod servers with you if you use the wallfly.
Q3A FFA is just as sweaty as QL except it's full of 1400 elo psycho boomers that melt down in chat, duel you and ragequit because of your obvious leethax 35% railgun accuracy.

If the devs wanted to increase the skill ceiling they would have everyone already move at a faster pace or change how weapons worked. Meta skills not explicitly stated or taught in gaming are what kill genres. Arena shooters, RTS, Fighting games, and MOBAs all suffer from this.

i think i saw what you mean first hand, on the exact same ffa darkfiber server im assuming you were on even. im not sure who was cheating as it started midgame and i won anyways but the lag definitely started to piss me off since it was a close game. what a fag though, do you have any suspicions on who it might be? i definitely want to play more on that server as instant respawning weapons is at least reasonable with so many players and its been fucking fun but i want to know what to look for and who to NAMEDROP
