Is this thing a proper alternative to a real everdrive?

>> No.5643712

>>5643682
even the real everdrive has compatibility issues & rendering glitches (super mario 64 dirediredocks)

im sure the chink version that isnt updateable is far worse

the knockoff isnt cheap anyways might as well buy the real thing

>> No.5643731

just buy the 5 n64 games worth playing

It's one-third the cost, dude.

And you can put some custom firmware on it. Somewhat.

Krkzz fags will tell you that no. But it is, runs 98% of the catalog with no problems. Even so try to buy the latest version with the PAL/NTSC switch.

I had no problems with the thing, except for not being able to back up the saves for the memory card or load them from the same cartidge.

>>5643748
dont say i didnt warn you
even krikzz carts arent 100% unless youre doing NES (famicom disk system not fully compatible either)

ultimately its your money, & desu its cheaper than going after official carts

I had one, and a number of games did not work correctly. Issues like no background audio on Conkers, to Perfect Dark not working at all were on quite a few major titles. In many cases I tried multiple versions of roms, including 9 for Perfect Dark. In the end I sold it, and picked up an Everdrive, and had no issue with the same files that would not work in the ED64 plus. You get what you pay for when buying chinkshit knockoffs.

What about with the alt64 custom firmware!

No. But it's perfectly fine for playing all the same games.

I did not fuck with the firmware, because I brought my problem here, and many people advised me that they had an ED64, and the problems I had were not problems they had. I am realistic that my situation was out of place, and rare, but on the flip side of the coin I wasn't in the least bit surprised by that.

Yeah, only a few games need to be manually patched, but nearly every game on it works. Even troublesome games like Pokemon Stadium 2, DK64, Jet Force Gemini, and Banjo Tooie work with the correct patches.

Beg pardon? It's just a bunch of flash ROMs. The game is otherwise still running on the N64 hardware.

If you get a ED64 3.0 you have full compatibility, and only a handful of game require patches that have to do with copy protection instead of actual compatibility.

You should have seen the picture before, when everything was in a moving truck.

I was in the process of moving to this home, and had work to do on the ground floor, and I didn't want to keep moving my shit around for a few weeks. This is actually a bedroom, and we crammed 100% of our electronics into it for a few weeks. It was comfy af. Me and my kids played borderlands lan and had a great time, though the room could have been a tad bigger. The wife avoided it...it was too nerdy for her.
