Oh, I've just spent the last hour searching for another game with just this ideal. Try Xenoblade Chronicles and then Xenoblade Chronicles 2. That's a couple hundred hours and the stories of both are quite nice, gameplay's not too shabby either.

Valkyrie Profile 1 and 2 are also good, I'd recommend a guide to get the "good" ending for the first game.

I hear what you're saying and you'll just have to take my word that these games fit the bill in one way or another, the sequels as well in their own right, I'm not recommending them just because they follow a game that fits.

I hope this thread picks up because I've played every game on your list and would love to just lose my life to another one.
