Is Serious Sam VR? Plays like an old school shooter, its engine was completed in 98, it runs on windows 95 and 1999 hardware, and you guys give a break to Deus Ex for those reasons.

Any good mods for TFE/TSE?

Its wonderful game, I loved how they organised inputs for it: I played split screen with friend while I was using racing wheel and gearbox to aim and shoot.
It was pretty hilarious

It is indeed retro because it runs on a system created by 1999, just as you said.

>Plays like an old school shooter.
This is a meme that's bound to piss off a lot of doom autists and much of /vr/ in general.
Old school fps:
>run around map looking for keys
>kill enemies while looking for keys
Serious Sam and Painkiller:
>go forward in an level
>have the doors close on you and 5 000 000 enemies spawn
>kill them and proceed to the next room where the same thing happens
I guess you could say that its similar in movement and weapons. Id still say Serious Sam is /vr/ though.

yeah Sam And painkiller are definitely pretty linear compared to old school shooters. The gameplay in Sam feels like Smash TV but with Dooms weapons

Then it's retro according to the rules here.

Not retro.

meme or not it's what most people think of when they think of an old school shooter.

why do you think so many scrubs like gman hated sigil for not being like that or why so many people hate hitscanners because it forces them to use cover.

Don't insult smash tv

Yes, Serious Sam and Painkiller were essentially large arenas connected by corridors. You get locked in, literally 2000 melee attack only low hp enemies spawn in, you shoot randomly in all directions until they're all dead, doors open, rinse and repeat.
