My nephew is really into baseball and I'd like to find some retro baseball games we can play together on my emulation setup. I'm looking from any games from SNES all the way to PS1 with that could hold his attention.

I have a huge collection of games already but I'm not really into sports so if you guys have any suggestions I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

This is the one I've actually already played with him. The art is really fun and fantastic. I have it on PSP emulator so we can only play it with one player but I should download the NEO GEO CD version so we can do two player.

They ported RBI Baseball II to the C64, but it was a poor copypaste job of the NES probably because it was a C64 game released in 1991 so they just didn't care anymore.

i just came to post ken griffey and i never post. i’m a 40 year old die hard baseball fan and it’s hard to top that. rbi baseball has a cool look but i never found it fun. bases loaded 1 is easy to play too. i never liked bases loaded 2 as much but last time i played i it i must’ve been 12 so what did i know anyway

Baseball Stars 2 is great, but my all-time favorite is its spinoff, 2020 Super Baseball. Go for the Neo Geo version, but the Sega Genesis version is also good.

all i know is the fun half of my high school baseball team spent a lot of stoned nights playing ken griffey. i always liked how high the ball went. and paste in bases loaded 1 was the best. i’d never beat my dad but at least i could homer with paste

Bases loaded 3 is by far the best baseball game on NES, I played it so much. Best retro baseball game imo is Baseball Stars 2 on Neo Geo

World Series Baseball 98 for Saturn is the best simulation baseball game ever made. It's only drawback is no team management which makes for shallow season experience, but as the gameplay of playing baseball on a baseball field, it's the best ever made. I could even be talked into being the best sports game ever made.

and you’re right about the modern baseball games. man after 1 year of ps1 baseball how can you go back. if you’re not a baseball fan it might be confusing but if you really know baseball playing a modern game is practically an arcade game anyway.
