It's generally good as SB2 and has some improvements, but some characters got too nerfed.

They rushed it to get it out, the story arc was literally in progress when they cashed the game in. You can see why it was so rushed due to the lack of story mode and how the graphics are lacking (they removed all the super blast chargeup effects for no reason - perhaps they wanted to redraw them, but had no time to do it).
