I don't.

I don't know, I have never owned one.

They're alright but holy FUCK they're overpriced

Is it just better to get a hori pad

>> No.5612791

I have a Hori and I'd like to get another one. But given what the Horis are going for these days I'm interested in hearing how those compare.

$30 is not overpriced, anon.

they're 30 compared to Hori's 100
i'd buy one of these but i'd like to know if it has any sensitivity issues, like brawler 64

>> No.5612904

Don't buy it until you see a joystick test.

It's not really that different from the Xbox layout, it's just narrower. It's not like you're using the D-pad for 95% of games anyway.

Being made by Retrobit, probably not.

you can put a decent stick in a regular N64 controller for like 3 dollars

At least you don't need 3 hands to use it.

There's no such thing. Literally all replacement sticks are shit: They are either oversensitive or have dead zones.

>> No.5613146

They're great, I use mine as my primary controller. The analog stick on those feels wonderful. Although if you are playing a game that primarily utilizes the d-pad, then stick with the original controller.

How does it work on shooters?
Like Goldeneye, etc.
Any sensitivity issue?

>> No.5613179

>>5613146
LMAO pleb. If it's made by Retrobit it has horrible joystick sensitivity and the fact that you can't even tell means you're a smoothbrain casual.

how poor are you ffs

>> No.5613186

I have the original Hori version. No, its not great. The analog sensitivity is off and its tiny. There's only one option for N64 controllers: the real deal.

Brawler 64 controller is great

What are you calling "sensitivity"?
Because I have one of these and:
1) It has the full range of values as an original controller which most 3rd party replacement sticks don't
2) It has a tiny deadzone so that it's 99% as quick to respond as the original which pretty much NO hall effect type does.

And since after only a few months of use the original grinds itself down to the point that you start noticing the slop in the input required and the reduction in maximum range, criticism of this sounds very disingenious.

There's only 1 problem in that the spring is too soft in my opinion so it is in fact TOO sensitive to the tiny movements your thumb will make which you don't want to register.

I've tried this. Most don't cover the full range that the original did, so many games, especially early games you have trouble with say, Goemon dropping from run to jog while you turn. The only one I have that doesn't is a chinese mechanical replacement. But annoyingly it seems to be grinding down faster than the original.
So far the retrobit one has been perfectly acceptable. I'd make some changes, but nothing major and I fully intend to get more and save my real controllers for the handful of edge cases.
