Mario RPG is wholesome. But for getting less involved, maybe Mario World, DKC2, or Super Star Wars. Those are all infused with my childhood so it's probably subjective based on your experience. Most Mario games pre Wii era bring me warm feelings.

Goonies 2. I can clear it in about an hour. It’s insanely easy.
Doom 2 as well, it’s more like target practice than anything else.
Granted, I don’t get depressed that often these days, but those are definitely comfy go-to’s for me.
