I never understood the cult following this series manages to attract. It puts me in the same mind as Lunar or Grandia. They're basically visual novels with RPG mechanics shoehorned in.

Minority are people who thought Ness was cool in Smash Bros for being mysterious and for having psychic powers (which were a popular theme to like in the '90s, similar to Animorphs). Majority are reddit-tier attention whores and attention whores vying for the attention of the first-mentioned attention whores (hence why, for example, fanart of "Ninten" (which has never been his official name, but using it doesn't bother me; on the other hand, "Ana" instead of the official and Anglo name "Anna" bothers the fuck out of me) is never based on his official depiction but is based on fanart of fanart that tries to make him look less like Ness (despite the fact that not a single fanart has gotten "Commercial Ninten's" bandana right)). Autistic (but completely accurate) rant over.
