What are the best SNES games, not of all time, but in the context of right now, regardless of how they will be perceived at any point in the future, or in comparison to any possible (almost certainly unlicensed) games for it yet to be made?

F-Zero is one of them. Still has great graphics, music and the controls for a racing game are so good and tight.

Simple to learn lifetime to master and it’s hard as fuck in the upper difficulties.

I’d say games like Yoshi’s Island are up there. Maybe even ahead of Super Mario World because it plays like a more modern game where there is a lot to collect and find for each level, but at the same time it’s still an amazing game with a lot of depth and charm.

Zelda LTTP is in my opinion the most timeless game on the system, and still worth going back to even today. One thing that does not hold up to modern games or Zelda games in particular is the puzzles, which in later entries to the series became quite good and creative. They are very simple in this game. Basically kill everything, push everything in a room solves 95% of puzzles. Good back then but today it’s painfully easy.
