The only emulator I use is MAME, which works better outside of Retroarch. For my consoles I use flashcarts and a 32-inch CRT.

I have set up Launchbox + RetroArch so that I can just double click on a cover and have the game output correctly on a CRT TV. There is simply no other current setup that can provide me that, plus absurdly low input lag, plus support for platforms like the saturn. None.

Literally the best way to enjoy -some- platforms. Kind of an issue with games that switch a lot between 480i/240p as the original hardware does that just much quicker and I guess some newer platforms are still not that good.
