I never seen the arcade version. I loved the nes version and everyone says its better, but this looks cool as fuck

as a real little kid Kangaroo and Missile Command stand out the most in my memory

as a slightly bigger little kid Double Dragon was the greatest thing ever

Was too young for 80's arcade games.
The 90's were my arcade years.

Played the shit out of anything Capcom made from 1990+
Best company by far.
Best fighters (no contest)
Best bmups (no contest)
Great platformers and shmups.

xain'd sleena, rastan, double dragon, cadash, darius
taito had some mid/late 80's magic when i was a kid espesially the dual screen stuff.
ghosts and goblins was (and still is) great.
Sega had some serious swag too with afterburner/outrun it, Golden Axe gets taken for granted around here considering how perfect it was/is.

any game with this screen was/is a favorite of mine, I know it I don't even to look

Not sure, but that one is one of my favorites, and they never did a proper home version, although the Genesis version came close, they had to ruin it with restarting the entire game after each death. Anyway, I have some good memories of playing Twin Cobra in the darkest corner of a huge beloved arcade in the mid-80s.

>> No.5566837

>>5566458
The original K. Tiger had checkpoints, but Twin Cobra gave you respawns where you died. Twin Cobra is mostly an easier game, but the rate of fire in your gun isn't as good (only 3 shots can be on screen at a time as opposed to 4)

Thanks for reminding me! Darius II was fucking incredible. I honestly like it more than Gradius and R-Type.

Joust. Simple concept, amazingly high skill ceiling. Hella fun to try to beat your top score.

Joust is really one of the greats. It's no wonder Nintendo copied it with Balloon Fight. Honestly I love the classic arcade-style NES games just as much as the platformers.

I found various Sega 80s arcades still around in the 90s. This one blew me away when I first played it, I couldn't believe how fast it was.

Double Dragon, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Joust, Kyuukyoku Tiger, Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Spirit, Oscar: Psycho-Nics, Rastan, Robotron: 2084, Rolling Thunder, Shadow Dancer, Shinobi, Strider, The New Zealand Story, Wardner, Willow, Wonder Boy in Monster Land. Sega's racers were alright, Super Hang On has a fantastic Fusion soundtrack.

Too many to name but I would like to mention Blaster the sequel to robotron 2084, its from 83 and is a sprite scaling shooter similar to space harrier but first person, really psychadelic colors like robotron just an amazing game.
