He is a reserved guy that didn't ask for any of this, and yet people are constantly putting more and more responsabilities on his hands (ie Cid stepping down and making him commander). because they made light of the fact that it happened. nowhere in final fantasy has anyone been quoted as saying curaga and full life can physically mend wounds. yes, there are plenty of times when a 'healer' will say let me 'x your wounds' but they never once explicitly say 'cure!' and perform a spell. ive beaten all 14 main entries and not once was this the case.

It was translated as "Sorry" in every other language besides English, which has its own flair of literal fanfiction writing and omission so if you want to say that "whatever" -- which I would personally translate to doudemoii -- has any connotations that would make it closer to Squall's insincere "I'm sorry, okay? Now leave me alone" that -- lest we forget -- is entirely your own interpretation based of a more acidic character you had to deal with while playing (for example, I never found Squall to be lying about his apologies, he just didn't have anything else to say, because he didn't want to be involved, so in my perspective he simply cut to the chase) then I guess I can say "I need some time" and you can interpret that as "fuck off faggot".

Kids probably play this shit and think they can go through life being detached and solitary yet one day somehow the adventure is just going to start, and all the girls will come to you etc... Warukattana wont be taken as a serious apology, it is either a show of acknowledgement that your circumstances may have caused slight displeasure to others, or a way of dismissing others if used rudely to people you see as lower than yourself.

Quistis kinda stopped being her "superior" the moment she confessed her love to him. You can call him rude all you want, but instead of "rude" I simply think "direct". To me it's nothing but an extension of his troubled personality, which changed/fucked the way he approaches everyone around him and the way he expresses any genuine emotion he might feel. He may be against forming strong bonds, but that doesn't mean he's an outright asshole that doesn't care for anybody, in fact there are multiple occasions where you can write your own Squall by choosing caring dialogue options, making the intention behind 悪かったな dubious at best. He can feel genuinely sorry about shit, but he just can't express it in the proper, socially acceptable way. Otherwise he'd be full on ellipses for the entire game or his catch phrase would actually be something like 興味がない, instead of an admittance of guilt. Even if you were 100% correct about the inherent rudeness, I still think "Whatever" would be a terrible way to portray his feelings.
