No matter what I do there's dust and cat hair everywhere and it's really getting on my nerves.

Keeping vidya, accessories and consoles stored in ziplock bags or sealed containers.
Actual cabinets with doors.
Better ventilation and filters.
Not living in a city or windy or dusty location

I use worn-out/stained t-shirts to dust, then I vacuum. You can also open some windows and blow out some of the cat hair with fans. Still, somehow cat hair has gotten into sealed cans.

Still working on the idea here, svideo switchers under the tv along with a component switcher that was pushed back so you couldn’t see it.
