Wanted to test out recording stuff so I recorded chaining practice for fun. Nothing fancy, just a basic GTR and I didn't go fast. But I recorded it so I'll post it here. Still doing 9-10 chains at best. Chain goes off at 1:15.

The fact that Arle sweats just like any other human being is pretty lewd.

She is so cute, and yet she sweats! Gross! Pathetic! Humiliating! How can she live with herself? She's adorable, and yet there is at least one person in the universe that would find her sweat disgusting. For sure! Doesn't that rob her of any dignity or pride? She smells!

For the older puzzle Puyo games, I like Tsu most. Japan only, but there's a translation patch. You could also play Puyo Puyo/Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine/Kirby's Avalanche (all the same game with different graphics/music), but the mechanics aren't as good because there's no way to counter your opponent's combos with your own.

I've never played the non-puzzle games much so I couldn't say for those.

The Game Gear version is translated at least.

I prefer it on Saturn, but the sun puyos kinda ruin the game. Way too much power and makes matches really short.

Puyo Sun 64 cut out all of the cutscenes except the ending. Huge bummer because it's the only one with 4 player multi.

By the way go check out the N64 version of Puzzle Dama (Marutama Chou)
It's actually 3 games in one (and one shitty bowling minigame). It has original Susume Puzzle Dama with the devil, angel and pacman pieces, the cursor based Tokae Dama, the ability to disable the 3 Susume pieces effectively turning it into original Puzzle Dama, and finally a shitty Bowling minigame you're going to spend 5 minutes playing before deciding .it's shit and going back to original Puzzle Dama. It features some of the characters from both series and no ugly bastard salaryman as a secret boss at the end which I like better than the Playstation Puzzle Dama

I need to stop picking games because they have cute girls in it. Cute designs, relaxing soundtrack and a cpu so savage it will leave your rectum sore for weeks. In my opinion famlamama Ghostlop did the Arkanoid/Breakout meets puzzler concept better.
Btw Cleopatra Fortune is a hidden character in this.

I know it's retro not board appropriate but if you want a nice introduction to the characters I recommend Puyo Pop on GBA (Minna de Puyo Puyo in Japan). Lots of dialogue, lots of stages that slowly introduce new gimmicks and despite being a SEGA game they nailed the character archetypes.
Other than Puyo 2 Remix and Puyo Box are also great. Lots of single player modes, a beginner course that's not just 3 stages long.

You don't NEED to learn GTR and pull off a 10+ chain to beat the cpu. Stair Pattern + Power Chain are probably more reliable against Satan anyway since the gravity is so fast and the AI is constantly harassing you with garbage.

>> No.5554932

>>5554812
They all offer something unique.
Puyo 1 is fun to rape the CPU.
SUN had the first instance of mission and nazo modes and 4 player multiplayer on N64.
Puyo 4 is hated because of the defensive powers take too long and force matches into sudden death state but it was the first to have big and small puyo modes. Some of the level gimmicks suck like the slow underwater level, others aren't so bad like the one where you're digging through garbage to reach a 500k damage block,
15th Anniversary is a random ass party game.
20th Anniversary has the criminally underrated Active and Pair modes.

I played the Sun mode in the 20th anniversary game on DS and I found it really fun despite it being broken, I don't understand why people hate it so much. Just because it's not as competitive doesn't mean it's unplayable.
