hey /vr/, should I just save up for the super sd system 3 or get a turbo everdrive while I save up? I have a $100 amazon gift card, so the everdrive won't cost me anything.

If you want to play CD games, get a Super SD, if you are a HuCard guy, get a TurboED. I have an EverDrive, and while I would really, really like to struggle through the PCE CD-ROM2 version of Shin Megami Tensei, it's just not worth the $300 for either a Super SD, or a working CD-ROM unit to me.

Imagine they make a Turbografx-16 mini /vr/? Just imagine it.

What would be some must include games on it?

I bought the TED a few years ago, and the ssds3 upon release. If you have ssds3, there's no real reason to own a TED. Why not buy something else on amazon?

I had one of the early ssds3 that needed audio and video mods to be good. Supposedly they are now fixed with the actual fbx audio and voultar video fixes. It's a nice unit and works very well.

TED is quality, and one of the cheaper flashcarts. I guess it's up to you if you want to own a redundant thing... I guess you could always sell it later.

Just use Magic Engine on your PC, you autist.

I'm more excited about the inevitable FPGA clone. I sold a broken CD-ROM2 to a guy in front of a chicken restaurant who was working on an FPGA clone and needed some hardware to work from.

I like real hardware more. Makes my autism feel happy. I use Magic Engine currently for CD games.

>>5545047
Fair enough. Like >>5544841 said, if I want CD games, then SSD3 it is. I do like hucard games though. Best of both worlds.

Fair enough. I used to own a Turboduo back in the early 90s.

How so? Emulation is generally the best option in a video game market with current unattainable prices.

Will not run all CD-ROM games, no matter what system card you use. In fact, it doesn't even run all HuCard games properly. SFII CE and Aldynes are good examples.

How exactly can history be inevitable? I have the PC boy and PC II. Hilarious LARP though. Whether it's you or chickity fooling you it's funny as fuck, especially the way you tell it.

huh? I literally sold my broken CD-ROM2 to a guy in a craigslist-type deal. And since there's already at least one FPGA clone in development, not counting the MiSTer core, I don't think it's crazy to assume a PCE FPGA clone will inevitably happen. How is this hard to understand?

Epic irony sport. PCE FPGA clones happened in the 90's.
