Final Fantasy Adventure was better.

>> No.554284

I preferred the second one. They did a remake for the ds but it never came to America. I tried running a rom of it with a translation patch but it just kept crashing. Damn shame.

It an awesome Gameboy RPG, though the second one is the best of the trilogy. Also that final boss, I think it had a full HP recovery move or something, but at least a recovery move and it would often times screw me over.

I've been playing the ROM just fine, the remake is great. I always like FFL1 and FFL3 better than FFL2, but 2 is still a great game.

Not even fair, that series is known for awesome music. I really like the tower music personally.

Apart from the translation, obviously, are there any differences between it and SaGa?

I think the glass sword was changed. I think in the Japanese version it was the standard one use, in the western version it has a bunch of durability like any other weapon.

FFL3 is fun because of how easily you can switch party combinations. But it's just so damn easy. Give everyone Stone and you've instantly destroyed almost every random enemy, except for a few who are immune. Then late game just create a few mass damage spells and you've killed everything including the bosses. I'm glad I played it but I don't really think I want to play it again.
It's the easiest to get into, though, as you gain levels simply by killing things. Weapons also have no durability. Good for a beginner.

FFL2 is probably the most well made of them. It still has that SaGa feel that 3 lacks, but fixes some issues with 1 and has a more cohesive story. Very fun and if you suck, like me, very challenging in the end. Easy to customize your people with Magi that you acquire. Also has an amazing soundtrack (http://youtu.be/zSqltUd8FMA).).

FFL1 can be tough to get into, and has some strange features that are changed in FFL2. For example, you level humans by giving them potions for the attribute you wish to raise. This gives you more power over your customization but is a bit tedious. To me the best part of this game is the sense of adventure. You're not on a quest to rescue the universe, you're just exploring a magical tower, and overcome obstacles on the way. Party combinations are cool because every town has guilds in which you can change your group. You can even go alone.

I'd personally like to hear updates of the music that Kenji Ito did on Final Fantasy Legend II. He always has a very rock vibe going on with all of his battle themes and I love it.

Borgin was the one pulling the strings all along. He let Sol/Ragna get possessed by Xagor/Laguna so that balance can be achieved with both of them gone.

I agree, it is simple and gives you a vague idea of what the game will be without plastering characters on the cover. Possibly one of the reasons why I got these games because of the covers.

Well at least the rectified it in the sequel.
