On first read, that is easily interpreted as "I have this (obvious pirate) cart but in brown, I never bothered to see if it is official or not." which of course it's not official, anyone who had been around the block in gaming could tell you that is an obvious pirate FC SMB. I'm assuming that, as I did, the person who read your post first thought you somehow could think such an obvious pirate, but in a different cart color, could somehow be legit, which would certainly be retarded.

On second read, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, and assuming you actually meant "I have a (possibly legit) SMB famicom cart but in brown, never bothered to look and see if it was official or not". That at least reads better, in that you just saw the OP image, assumed it was a normal SMB cart, and posted your comment.

Of course, you'll have to clarify what it was you really meant with your comment before it makes sense. As is, the first interpretation is very easy to make, and from that it's pretty easy to justify calling you out for making a comment like that.

That's exactly what I meant. I just worded it poorly. Obviously the cart in the OP is a pirate (lack of a logo, for starters) and I would never mistake it for an official Famicom cart. I'm not exactly new to pirate shit (you're talking to someone who used to read the pirate/bootleg section TSR's NES Page religiously -- I'm old), but I've had this brown SMB cart that I picked up at a thrift store ages ago that I never looked into to see if it was legit or not. Unlike the yellow cart in the OP, it does have text written on it.

I could easily find out if it's official or not, but that wasn't the point. It was just a throwaway comment that >>5516994 saw fit to sperg out over.
