All three are acceptable as an American. Pretty sure Snesss is a British thing that Americans who watch YpuTube have appropriated. I don't remember ever hearing anyone refer to the NES as a Nesss or the SNES as a Snesss in the USA back in the day.

It's the Super Famicom. I'm from the USA and I owned a Super Nintendo (and still own one), and for many years I said Es-En-Ee-Es, but that is not the name of the system. At least not in the context of how I play it today. I emulate, and I play my games via a Super Famicom emulator. You could call it a Super Nintendo emulator, but that would be silly. Call it by its original name from the original region of manufacture.

I call Macross as Macross now, not Robotech.
Genesis just sounds strange to me now, it's Megadrive.
I never used to the term TurboGrafx more than handful of times, it's definitely PC Engine to me.

Maybe a game that was developed in the west is a proper Super Nintendo game. But I default to Super Famicom or SFC, especially in online discussions.

The thing about "Sness" is that it could only have come from the internet and not IRL. People called the SNES "Super Nintendo" because people called the NES "Nintendo", the Atari 2600 "Atari", and the Sega Genesis "Sega"; that was just how people talked.

"SNES" was something you'd read, write, or type, saying it out loud would be the equivalent of saying "LOL" or "OMG" IRL, which I guess people do but it's still cringey. It would be the equivalent of admitting you have no IRL friends and that you socialized by reading words instead of listening to them, either that or you were born later and missed that pre-internet era.

I call it the "Super Nintendo", that sounds the most natural to me. Maybe sometimes I say "SNES", but I don't extend the final consonant, I basically say it in a way that rhymes with "chess". People who say "S.N.E.S."... that seems a bit over the top for me and I wouldn't go in for that.

Ha, you see, had you in your head pronounced “SNES” as “ess-en-ee-ess” you would have naturally put “an” in front of it, unless you were a grammarlet. Since you put an “a” in front of it instead, you must be either a grammarlet, or a zoomer, which is it?

I don't know but I see people trying to convey some phonetic meaning by writing "Sness" such as the OP. I assume this meant that the last sound was extended like a hiss sound or somehow emphasised. When I say "SNES" I don't extend the final 's' any more than the initial 's'.
